While the MG Vadodara International Marathon has its motto of “Sports, Seva, Swacchata”, it also adopts a social or civic cause to promote in each of its editions. Not only is the MG Vadodara International Marathon an AAFI and AIMS accredited marathon but it also garners support from both the Sports Authority of India and the Sports Authority of Gujarat making it a national sports event that attracts runners from all over India as well as across the world. Inaugurated in 2009 with a little over 30000 runners in its first edition, the MG Vadodara International Marathon has grown only in size but also in popularity with nearly 100000 participants in its 2019 edition!
